    Adjusting TIming --- Trouble

Damn i went to adjust my timing , found something strange, there is No way to rotate my distributor, no screw to loosen or anything....it's bizarre. yet the haynes manual shows some screw to loosen to rotate the distributor, well low and behold it isn't there.

Mine is an 1988 A20A4. EFI,

Distributor, is obviously Vacuum advance, im a little stumped how to adjust my timing, unless the haynes manual is wrong.

You're not looking at the right place. The distributor has 3 screws where is meets with the engine head

Loosen those and you'll be able to turn the distributor.

bolts need only to be loosened not to be taken off ! it looks like some kinda slide with 3 bolts ! i think 12 or 10 mm wrench will fit just right !

It might be covered with a plastic cover on the bolt.

Ok heres a good question. How much advance or retard does that give you to play with in degrees? Would it be possible to drill out the slots longer to get more adjustment to turn it cw, ccw. I hate the fact that there is only a 1/4 inch of adjustment.....I need another 1/4 inch
In the end...it doesn't even matter.

    Look at this picture:

    http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...I%29+%28TEC%29

The bolts to loosen are the long one to the left of the "11" in the pic (no number on it), and another not pictured opposite that one behind and under. As someone else said, they are 10mm bolts, and they are in elongated holes so that you can turn the distributor in the block.

    Good Luck!
