Legend pretty much said it. Used a b18b1 non vtec block an matted it with a b16a vtec head which is called a ls vtec. With the stroke of a ls an vtec head you get more power but there's a few things you have to do to make good reliable hp.

I understand now. I didn't realize you could swap different parts of an engine onto other engines like that. Now with doing the ls-vtec I've heard that you have to get a "kit" to mate the head to the block as they dont just swap right over. What did you do??

What exactly did you do to make the "good reliable hp"?

Definetely is a nice engine swap you did in your 3g. The videos and power you have now is sweet!

Now I'm going to be looking at doing this engine swap myself.

I learned a lot also. I bookmarked it and wrote some stuff down for my swap I plan on doing.

The numbers you put out are a good start for what I want.

Have you done a leakdown test and compression check to see if you have lost anything?

    Few Updates Since 2013

I did Coil on Plug conversion. Night an day difference on start up an vtec kicks in smoother stronger. Pulls harder.

Also redo my whole suspension as in bushings. even the rear stock control arms.

Also did the Hood Strut mod. Love every bit of it lol. Btw using acura legend hood struts

Just a video i did of the work i did after 8 fucking hrs lol

Also was having 1/4 tank fuel starvation problems. Was getting to a breaking point where i just needed to fix the issue. i Just use the stock sock an cut the tab that hold the push ring on. Fits tight but wont come off. Btw im using Xenocron 255 fuel pump. there sock socks ass lol. Hopefully this fixes the issue.

Great updates man, I read through 90% of your thread....awesome build and great documentation. Definitely useful for those of us new to this chassis. I will be doing a b20v in mine over the next 6 months or so. Always wondered if coil on plug was worth it on my many other honda builds, never took the plunge though. The bay and car still look incredible, super excited to get rolling on mine. I have had similar fuel starvation issues with walbro 255s when autocrossing, pretty frustrating.
How do you like the performer x intake mani? I have had blackworks, skunk2, Aebs, and old school Blox. Have yet to experience the Edelbrock manifolds, The old AEBS and Blox were by far my favorite in the flow deparment. Is that an EF skunk2 half rad I see?

any new lines on premade harnesses? I have searched pretty high and low...seems non existant. I have the ability to do it all myself, just being lazy.lol

Thanks. Coil on plug was worth it for the fact that I can use the stock pcm no software was needed. Add the kit consist of was a Control module an harness an coils. Which I bought for 380 with coils. Kit worked awesome. Hondarulez.com is who sells the kit. you can also look him up on facebook.

The performer x is amazing. top end pulls like crazy. But you need the cams an decent comp ratio to make the intake work like it should. its made for high RPM. Harness I made my self. Just using a wire diagram adding obd1 plugs to existing harness. Boomslang jumper harness to connect to stock harness an your set. Pretty straight forward.

Im not on here much like I used to so my bad for late post

Re: B18B1 Build and Swap - Rendon LX-I

just figure drop by and update my thread. sucks that photo bucket ruined everyone's pictures. who uses what now to photo host?

since my last update i done a few things also got a few things i yet installed

i have jdm folding mirrors i need to install. i installed jdm map lights which i love. complete redid the audio system also redid power and grounds did the big 6 (ground) . Added a insolater meaning running 2 odyssey batteries rear is a bigger battery running the sub in the spare tire area. i am sure you guys know how a insolator works but i can explain. its a relay pretty much. key off or key on acc i run off rear battery. i can completely run it dead or once it goes low once i turn the key to start relay activates running the front battery to start the engine then runs both batteries in series . pretty slick. less stress on the whole electrical system per say.

so audio system is redone. added a personal steering wheel with ngr hub. installed k-sports suspension best thing i did to my car in a long time lol. At the moment im redoing my intake. cutting and tig welding a custom one. issue was the intake was sitting right behind the radiator which was a no go for me. going to add a shield as well to make it look much nicer. going to redo valve lash and degree the engine. removed old adjustable pacesetter short shifter and made my own using the stock unit. cutting and added some rod then using chedda birdcage. also installed a full race traction bar from chedda as well. converted lights to led all exterior. adding a led flasher inside so no extra wiring needed for turn signals. headlights look better with led and i have high beam again. made some shields to cover the bulb as well. just haven't had time. i coach my kids now with sports. i do a lot of golfing so i still wrench on old blue when i can or feel the urge to lol. i work alot on my golf car and do other things that keep me busy lol. but old blue sits in the garage waiting. going to get rid of the chip put a rtp . waiting on hondarulez to release that. other then that fellas not a whole lot. ill have to post pics maybe tomorrow.

let me know what you guys use to host pictures. been awhile eh. cheers fellas
