well, while I was replacing my valve cover gasket I lost the little hose that connects the valve cover to the intake.... what size breather filter should I buy?

LOL - I asked that question too, before I bought mine. No one answered if I remember correctly. I bought one at PepBoys. They only had one size. It's come crap APC brand or something - nothing cool like Matrix or K&N. But it was cheap and I didn't have to pay shipping.

If I remember, there were like 2 diff sizes on Nopionline.com. I would measure the diameter of the pipe coming out fo the valve cover to find out. I'm guessing 9mm - but heck, it's a guess

a breather filter is a waste of money and time unless you have a mass air flow car, my boy put 1 on his 91 cr-x and it made his ride bog in 1st a little but when we put the hose back on it was fine.

the breather from APC would fit our cars perfectly.

Experimental honda, u might have taken out the PCV hose since the later engines had the PCV on the valve cover too (check the F22 engine its like that). The are pretty close to each other too and u could be mistaken. Pulling out the Valve cover breather would in no way affect the engine run because its just a vent gas that is not vaccuum controled like the PCV.

Just buy an APC one and use a knife to hollow the rubber sleeve out a bit until it fits correctly.

I actually felt the same thing I think it is best to just leave the PCV system intact.

maybe the plugs didn't get plugged up...once you take off the hose and put the breather on you have to plug the hols that the hose was connected to...vacume...someone correct me if I'm wrong.

nah i totally took off that tube that goes to the valve cover. it only does it when i start up so it might be too much cold air (im in texas so it really isnt that cold) at once. i dunno ill play around with it and see what happens.

I put a chrome air breather on my LX and I noticed a 5hp increase.... sooo much faster... but not nearly as big of a performance gain as my Type-R stickers

Yeah, just leave the breather alone. There's really no point. It doesn't do a thing... maybe it hurts it a little due to taking in hot air.

from my understanding the breather is supposed to help keep it cooler hence the term "breather". When the hose to the valve cover is taken off you must plug the spots up where the hose WAS. never mind.
