For those who dream of being Accord of the Month....I was in May 2005. Here is a timeline of my 89 lxi hatch. I've blead, sweat, and cried all for this car. Bitesize.....a true 3geezer for life.

I have a '89 Honda Accord, and it's time for the smog test again. Last time, 2 years ago it just barely passed. Has your '89 been passing the smog tests? Do you have any suggestions for me that I could do to help it pass the smog test?

I took my 1989 Honda Accord LX 4dr. (carb) for the smog test and it failed. I'm told it needs carburetor work, yuck.
Does anyone know if I will have to buy a brand new carburetor or can the original one be repaired? If there are possibly ways to repair instead of replace it, can you suggest a mechanic that knows carburetors for this model?
