    Arrow Lookin at amps...seeking opinions

i've decided to give my speakers a kick in the ass and get a 4 channel amp. right now, i have 3-way pioneer 6.5's in front and 2-way pioneer 6x9's in the back, although i may replace the rears with 2-way Alpine type-R's (even though i hate the ricey name )

here's the amp's im looking at:

    Pioneer GM-X564

    Alpine MRP-F200

    Bazooka EL460

    Sony XM-475GSX

    Crossfire VR-404

im not getting them thru crutchfield cuz i can get them much cheaper thru a wholesaler. these are all around 160-200 bucks thru the wholesaler. just wondering what you guys think

I dont really care for those particular ones if your on a budget the best i can think of is Memphis or Crossfire. I think and heard they are the same company. I find local small custom shops much cheaper than regular retailers. A freind of mine had a new S10 with a sony amp (not sure which one) a 6Ch and it was ok but very expensive. I have tried the two i recomended and have never had a problem with them although the 3 memphis amps i just got this summer.

i would recommend NOT to go with sony cause its the shittiest music i have ever heard on an Amp, speaker and subs individually. i dont even know how they manage to go thru with it. Its probably the name.

Anywayz, considering the specs given, i would go with Pioneer for reasons. pretty Low pick up freq (40htz, though u can go a lil lower). decent RMS for each speaker, Decent price and most of all a trust worthy company.

on the side note: the GM-X364 have a even more lower pick up (10htz) http://www.millionbuy.com/piogmx364.html but its just 300W.

ok i have Alpine MRP-F200, i am pushing two Alpine 6.5" all the way around. I love that amp. it never gets hot. it could be 120deg outside, but it will stay cool.
i would say go with Alpine. I love this amp.
here is what they priced on ebay http://search.ebay.com/search/search...5&BasicSearch=

Glad I looked around for an older post before asking. Joe's situation is exactly the same as mine (my Alpine V12 4 chanel is old and tired) and I was also looking at the MRP-F200. I want to power my 6.5 Pioneer 3ways and 6X9 Pioneer 3 ways with roughly 40-60W RMS per chanel and a price around $200US. Are there any other amps that are recommended?? I was also looking at MTX Thunder4244 since I may be able to get them at wholesale price.

IMO, i would go with the Alpine, the pioneer has more output...but is virtually the same as far as the specs...but the Alpine wouldnt be bad either. either one is a good amp...but if you want a little more power ( that you probably wouldnt notice ) and want to spend $50 more dollars, get the Pioneer. Go with the Alpine.

alpine... i'm not horribly fond of pioneer, and alpine to me has a better sound to it than the pioneers products i've heard

I think the Alpine is best built and cleanest sounding, youll prolly be happiest with it.

i have that alpine amp running my 6.5" speakers. it is very nice amp. alpine always underrates its product. expect this thing to run at about 150W per channel(bridged mode).

I run an MTX Thunder 4244 fantastic amp, it was running my 2x splits and rear 6.5' coaxs, however soon it'll be moving to active config so the one 4channel will just power my splits! DROOL IT's gunna rule!

Yeah I agree with previous posts with the MTX amps. Ive had bad experiences with their subs, but their amps are built nice and they are nice and clean sounding, just like the alpine. Youd prolly be best to stay away from sony, bazooka and pioneer. I like pioneer head units, but not their amps or subs, ive had many sony decks and speakers but never an amp, but from those id bet they werent any good. And bazooka... well you could prolly do better.
