Well, the switch is ~$250. If you can find one. The easiest is to rebuild the switch yourself following the How-To articles.

    Rebuild the headlamp switch: https://www.3geez.com/forum/how/60916...mp-switch.html
    Rebuild the wiper switch: https://www.3geez.com/forum/how/77873...g-rebuild.html

Here is what I found when I rebuilt mine: https://www.3geez.com/forum/technical...h-rebuild.html

It costs pennies to rebuild and delivers a lot of bang for the buck. My switch is working wonderfully well now.

There is a single wire connector on the thermostat housing neck going into the head. It is on the back, closest to the firewall. Make sure that the connector is tight, not flopping around and that the wire isn't broken or frayed. If that doesn't make good contact, you'll get erratic temp readings.

I'm not sure what the issue is with your battery light, but the free tests at Autozone are worse than useless. They tend to pick any random part and call it bad. After you have spent money replacing it, you find out that your original problem remains.

Here is a video from Eric the Car Guy that outlines how to check your charging system: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTGz0PKIl84

You might also want to load test the battery. You'll have to pick up a new tool to do it properly though (~$25-50 from Harbor Freight): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QiKyjWWiRo

Let us know what you learn.
