What wire is this?

Figured I'd spray some carb cleaner in the hatch today for the heck of it. I noticed my MPG going down very gradually since I bought it and thought it couldn't hurt.

While I was prying around under the hood, I noticed my hot air hose was disconnected (may have been the culprit).

I also found this wire that leads from the firewall and was resting by the starter...any thoughts?

That wire looks aftermarket, but it does use the same tip as the reverse switch. Do you reverse lights work?

It should be a 2 wire switch plug right into the transmission. I've never even wired mine up with my swaps lol.

those wires look like the reverse lights wires for a manual transmission. Plug them into each other and turn the key to on with the vehicle in neutral. If the reverse lights are on then it's confirmed.

They are the reverse lights, but they're fried. I need to replace some of it.
