    Bad axle and it hurts

So I have a bad axle it is giving me a hard time but don't have money to fix should I keep driving it? Or should I park it? I kinda need it but have a road bike if I should leave it alone any thoughts on what to do.

what do you mean giving you a hard time? how bad is it or what is going on? I have driven on bad cv joints several months but I wouldn't drive it if it clunks going stright forward.

If you are gentle, you can nurse it along for a pretty long time. Depends on what the situation is though, like 2oodoor said.

Re: Bad axle and it hurts

If it is clunking and shaking driving streight then it can break, then you risk further damaging transmission housing and anything in the vicinity will get the crap beat out of it till you come to A stop. Not to mention flinging parts at somebody else...
A reman axle is about 50 bucks but theres cheeper ones if you shop, especially at junk yards. Pick one with good boots and odds are its fine.
You can rent or borrow/return the socket for the axle nut and a balljoint separater.
No other special tools really needEd, takes about 30 min if all goes well.

What these guys said. Just eat PB&J sandwiches for a week and you'll save the money to get one.
