89 Lx-i
Performance: K&N filter, custom CAI, Accel coil, MSD 6aL ignition, magnecor wires, high flow injectors, FPR, sport exhaust,Tokico springs/struts
Appearance: white gauges, side markers, headlight conversion, clear bumper signal/fog light conversion, SE-i center armrest and cupholder, SE-i leather seats
17" ADRs with 205/40/17 khumos
future plans: 16" or 17" rims(can scratch that one off the list 9-12-02), headers-high flow cat.-cat back piping. Rear disc brakes from SE-i, reground cam.
Isn't there a way to place the CAI without moving the battery? Isn't the stock CAI (Just have to remove the filter from the manifold and place it in front).
Modified Civic Intake. 40/17, NZO rims, Kumho tires.
If you want to add some more piping so that it curves around the battery like the stock intake, then yes. But that's a little hard to do.Originally posted by ssophab

keep in mind, straighter the better, more bends is just not right. besides, moving the battery to the back is not that hard if u think about it.
Come on guys 88LXI68 offered to make just such a cai for us, pm the guy, he'll be glad to make them.Originally posted by kicker1_solo

BTW, the cai I just sold to DarknessRS routed behind the battery, so it can be done, seen it with my own eyes.
the CAI i have on my car is 3" piping so I had to move the battery somehow. I have a 2.5" that I made all I did is move the battery as far over as I could and it will fit. The other thing about my intake is I use 3 pieces not 4.
'88 LX-i Coupe --- LS/Vtec

You don't really have to relocate the battery, just slide it way off to the side.
what is that think that looks like foam between the first pipe and the second pipe?? what does it do??
