newbie here - need help on selecting a trim level?

Hi, I am new on this board which I found through a link from another board and saw that this place had a carb forum which I think is extremely nice and convenient.

Anyways, I own an 88 prelude that originally was single cam carburated. Lately, I decided I needed a new project to work on, and those 3rd generation hatchback accords are really starting to appeal to me. So I was wondering, can you guys help me out on which trim level to start off with? I would really like to go into performance but also want to make sure there isn't going to be a lot of hassles with custom work (converting my carb SOHC prelude to the twin cam EFI JDM B20A was a hassle enough, not too mention it burned a hole in my pocket)

    Sorry for the long post.

you shoulda still been dohc on a 3g carb'd lude... 2nd gen ludes had sohc carb... what trim you get all depends on what you want to do with it... plan on swapping in a jdm b20a from a 2g lude? go for one that's already injected... just want something to beat around with? get a carb'd and put a weber(s) on... as for the interior accessories and stuff, i couldn't tell ya... i got a lude...

yeah get a 88 or 89 LX-I, you get fuel injection and as you already know from switching from carb to FI on your lude, fuel injection is much better. oh yeah got any pics of your lude? i'll post them if you want, PM me

lx-i or se-i. the difference is the se-i has leather and a few other things. engine wise they are the same. and lx-i comes in hatch too.

Well at least I've never seen an SE-i Hatch and when people talk about SE-i's on the board the only ever mention a Coupe or Sedan.

When i said " Get the an Sei" i meant the coupe trim. We all know that Honda did not make an Sei hatch. Sorry for the mistake.

I agree with the rest. The LX-i model is the best base to work on for the hatchback. The LX-i has the EFI engine, front and rear anti-roll bars, and better front discs (I believe). You'll want to grab the rear disc brakes off of a junked SE-i model also.

thanks for all the help guys! looks like its going to be LX-i hatchback for sure... now its time to go and look for one... I've seen many sedans for sale, but rarely others...

btw, how do you post pictures on here? that way I can post my 3g prelude and SR20DET 240sx pictures to show of the current (soon to be done) projects as well?
