    Ringing Noise

    Ok when i punch it in my car at about 5000 rpms there is a ringing noise it sounds like metal ringing around i cant tell where its coming from but after 5000 rpms it stops. I dont know if this is bad for my engine or what is ringing or how to get rid of ir or anything? has anyone else had a similar problem like this? my car is an 86 carb. Thanks

    Ok I went for a ride and it sounds like its coming from the left side of the engine bay if that helps at all.

    the person before you strapped some bells to the engine so when you get the rpms near the redline they start ringing so that you get annoyed and slow down.!!!
    hehehhh

    but honestly i dont know what it is....trying to figure out what a sound is without actually listening or driving it for yourself is hard to figure out...

    i was in winnipeg last month....i couldave come over and took it for a spin and then helped yah...

    mabye someone will know.

    hmm i have the same problem. I think its my heat sheild though
    ACT Stage 1, Short Ram Intake & 2.25 Dynomax custom catback w/4inch carbon fiber tip. Thats it for now.

    Putting the paint back on after

    Mine makes a funny sound at 2000 rpms...
    Performance Modz: Short Ram Air Intake, Custom Exhaust w/o Cat & Resonator, Cherry Bomb Turbo Muffler, Accel Coil, Removed AC

    Other Modz: Clear Blinkers, Purple Calipers, Accord Emblem On Dash, Winking Headlights

    i had a "ringing" at about 2000 - 2500, happened to be the outer sleeve on the exhaust after the converter.........

    check ur heat shield. i had to take mine off... it was fucked... but i have not cat to burn threw the floor so its ok...
    they make a ping noise at higher rpms if they are rubbing!
