    brake lines

Are there any stainless steel brake lines that work with a 1987 Prelude Si? I only see lines for DX.

I'm not fully sure with preludes, but the only difference I found on the 3rd gen accord was disk vs drums. Does the si have disk, and the dx have drums?

Si has 4 wheel disc, and according to the Techna-Fit site, so does the 85-87 Prelude DX. I thought the DX had rear drums. Techna-Fit, Manufacturers of High Performance Hose & Fittings for All Applications

Just got an email back from Chris @ Techna-Fit and he said the HN-1381 kit fits the 85-87 Si. (they have it listed for 88-89 Prelude)

The US Prelude DX '84-'87 had rear discs also, same as the '85-'87 SI. The '83 DX had drums. All Canadian DX models had drums.

    Re: brake lines

there must be some difference because he said the 85-87 DX w/discs used part # HN-1380 and the Si used HN-1381. The HN-1381 is listed for 88-89 prelude. Now im curious if the Goodridge lines from a 88-89 Prelude will fit my 87 Si...

I just purchased the HN-1381 kit as recommended by Techna-Fit. Hope it fits. They said their website is wrong on part #'s and applications..

It could just be that one line is a little longer, or maybe the mounting clip is different or something. The SI calipers are slightly larger than the DX, but they are essentially interchangeable.

For anyone else out there looking, the ss brake line kit for the 1st generation integra is a direct fit for the 2nd generation preludes as well

Don't forget there are a lot of local shops that can make custom brake lines for you. Most of them even have the specs. I had some brake lines whipped up for me by a shop int town in 30 minutes. Had multiple stainless color options, as well as standard rubber lines.

    Re: brake lines

3 weeks after purchased, the Techna-Fit brake lines finally were delivered. You would think when an ebay store says that there are more than 10 available, that they would have them in stock and not have to special order them. Then Techna-Fit had to special order the blocks for the front lines. Will be installing them shortly. Pics to follow...

    Re: brake lines

So I went to install the brake lines today to find out they dont fit well. There is a rubber collar that is around the fitting and makes the hose less flexible, so the hose doesnt bend easily, and the block is bigger causing alignment issues. I contacted Techna-fit and they said because they never really made a kit for the 1987 Prelude Si, yet they offer it on their site, they had to guess on what block to use. I am a bit concerned by this considering the brake system is what stop the car.. Im thinking that if the hose it 1.5-2 inches longer it will fix these issues, but now I need to convince them to make a longer hose.
