    dieseling

    hi guys:
today i went to get gas and when i shut off the car at the station to fill her up it deseled like crazy (sputtered and wouldn't die) i had to pop the clutch to kill it. it started up fine after i was done filling it up. any ideas on what the problem could be, it was cool outside today but the engine was fully warmed up. oh and i just replaced the PCV valve about 4 months ago

the car might be running rich or the choke remains engaged..

Try to clean the carb with carb cleaner first.

One more thing, make sure that the pre-heater hose is connected.

yes i did a search for dieseling on the board before i posted this thread, i saw that post but he discribes a wierd idle he is having as well, my car idle's perfect and when i shut off the car it showed no signs of anything abnormal, then it started dieseling, by the way it hasn't done it since, maby it is a one time thing (we need a knock on wood smilie!!)
