    Re: connecting rods

So I was just offered a ls block that has been sitting and may have bad bearings. My question is are the LS rods and pistons any stronger than stock a 20 rods and pistons.

    Re: connecting rods

idk bout the rods in the link but I do know that ull have to bore the a series motor out to use the b series rods so urr better off buying nice quality rods instead of using old oem ones.

That's out I was thinking. I would have the shot pinged, heat treated and all that good stuff. It's just hard to find piston and rod combo that's not crazy expense. I'm not trying to make a insane amount HP 250-300 would be fine due to the fact I would like to dd the car. What do u have in mind

    Re: connecting rods

Std rods balanced with lighter forged pistons and lighter wrist pins are a very good combo as they are very light I've had no issues with stock A20 rods at 200bhp and 8000k rpm use. But depends what your goals are really with that much power you'll definately need forged pistons or the cast ones won't last very long, stock rods maybe fine for 250 but if you push it to 300 that could be there weak point but you really want lighter rods if possible I think BC do a sportsman light version which is 440grams 100 grams lighter than most but still not as light as oem but they'll cost you $400 for a set then add pistons on top 83mm bore size your quickly heading towards $1000 in parts.

    Re: connecting rods

ive seen a few people use the b18 golden eagle rods. you will need to get over size pistons because the a20 bore is 82.7mm

    Re: connecting rods

So I've been lookin to the eagle rods and come to find out cxracing(ones j posted), scat and eagle are made by the same place so aside from a name the are close to the same. from there Companys many shave them down to make them lighter and stamp there name s on it. The cxraxing rods are around 580 grams from what I found so out of any the of the BC one there right on par with any other forged connecting rod
