Is this for LHD or does it matter? I know where there is a few, but I have no idea if they are in working condition.

Yep, LHD. If they are not working is not a big issue since i can fix them. But then would be nice if i can play with those weird controls and hear some good stereo music in my Prelude!

Ok, well I'm heading out of town this weekend, but I think I wanna get back up to that yard the next weekend and see if there is anything new. I'll grab those for you then. So send me a PM some time next week and I'll let you know if I can make it.

Bought it from Ebay from Germany and just arrived. Brand new! The seller listed it as "Used" but to my surprise is brand new and was never used or installed

    Re: Just picked my RADIO!!

Does anyone know how to wire the connection in the last picture? I know it goes to the optional cassette player (Not going to install any), wich was controlled by the radio (or controlled the radio) by switching radio reception off when a cassette was being played, while allowing volume, tone, on/off, etc to be controlled by the radio knobs. I intend to have a hidden USB device in the car, connected to the radio so i can control volume and on/off from this radio, and a hidden IR sensor going to the USB device to control tracks with a remote controller.

Sounds like a brilliant idea & will be very interested to hear how it works out, though don't have ideas regarding the wiring.

What kind of connections does the radio have? Does it have speaker outputs?

I'm guessing by the last connection that *might* be low level in from the cassette player output. Can you disassemble the radio and trace where the wire goes? Post up pics and I might be able to help identifying them.

It has L & R speakers output, ground, (+), antenna connector, and a 6-pin connector for the tape player. I did as you said and i am still tracing the internal wiring to determine where they connect, and wich zone performs wich task inside. From the mentioned 6pin connector, 2 (Fat black wire, almost sure is (+) & thin grey wire that i still need to trace) goes to the amplifier circuit, just between the 2 Toshiba TA7222AP amp IC's, 2 to the FM receiver (Yelllow to condenser then to FM demodulator HA11227 IC, white to condenser then to HA11219 Noise reducer IC), and a red skinny one, to the Stereo LED indicator...WHY??!!. One goes to ground.
Btw, i saw the orignal tape player and it has built-in volume and tone control, but i sill might be able to make the own radio's volume control to work with mp3, maybe wiring the Mp3 output directly in the volume potentiomenters, the thing is how to kill radio output when Mp3 y working, while still keeping the amp stage working.

Wow, the solution was already there, i dont know how i did'nt think about it before. I will use a MP3 FM transmitter to broadcast the MP3 signal to the radio in FM form. I may use the own radio power signal to turn MP3 on/off to avoid using the lighter slot, also using the clock slot to place the MP3 screen (wich may have a built in clock), and relocating the MP3 IR diode close to the floor console to use the remote controller. Then an external amplifier and equalizer will take care of sound quality and power.
