It depends on several factors, such as: what type of system you have, the location of the tweets, and whether or not you have a crossover. For tweets to operate optimally, a crossover would be a good investment.

I spliced mine into the front speaker that it is running with... left and front left... right and front right... I need crossovers though...

a crossover is cheap as hell and u can grab one for under 5 bucks from radio shack or order thru yahoo or ebay for less. if u wanna do something, do it right and for stuff like this, get a crossover and dont be ghetto style by running ur tweeters parallel to ur fullrange.

Like anything car audio, the cheaper you go, the crappier it will sound (usually...heh, !Exception! Adire Audio anyone?). So yes, you can get a cross-over for dirt cheap online, but it will sound like poopy. Just get some nice ones for like $40-$50 and you will be a whole lot more pleased with the sound.

the crossovers i saw at radioshack were like 17 bucks. easier to swipe stuff from an old indoor speaker system or record player or something

the real trouble with tweeters is that they suck ass when you feed them 1800 watts! i had a set from a home speaker... they were 200 watt ones and 8 ohms so i wired it to my big amp and they just played real loud for about 5 seconds and then they started to smoke... real bad.... oh well it was fun... and i taped it too.

Tweets require very little power to drive them. There is less surface area to move, plus the wire in the voice coils are much smaller than in mids and subs. A good 50 to 100 watt amp is sufficient to run high quality tweets.

LOL @ air fresheners!! Thats funny shit man... dude post that video if you can!!! Thats bad ass!! haha... well I was messing with my car sterio today and I was sitting in the back seat (which I hardly ever do) and I realized how much of a difference my tweeters in the front make... Im so used to having the treble and its really lacking it in the back... Im going to get another set of tweets and attach them to the 130w fosgate thats pushing the 6x9's inbetween the stock 6's on the rear deck... that should do the trick.....

if you have gorrillas in the trunk (a I do) the best 6x9s you still wont be able to hear really well in the front.

you can use a simple capacitor to filter out bass notes from your tweeters, only like $1 yep $1.
If you dont have any other way to do it.
