    squeak squeak, help me pls!

ok, recently my left rear "suspension" has been squeaking like a mofo!

i cant tell, but it ALMOST sounds like the right rear side is starting to, which is scary since the left side SLOWLY got more annoying.

its at the point now where any time i go over a non smooth section of road (i am not even talking about bumps) the damn thing creaks. i can hear it loud and clear, and it bugging the hell out of me.

whenever i get into or out of the car it makes the noise. so basically whenever it moves up or down. as far as i can tell its not rotational at all.

    here is my setup:

tokico blues on the back, with H&R springs....
the front has konis, with the same springs....

i installed these myself, and they had been fine up until this last week of squeaking.

what can i do, and what could this be. it doesnt seem serious, its just hella annoying! help me out here guys!

Jim this sounds like the problem that I pm'ed you about. He told me it was the sway bar rubbing against the bushings (if i remember correctly). I thought it was the ball joint right up above the tire, so hit it with WD-40 and i actually haven't had a problem since.

hmm, so look around the sway bar and see if its rubbing? - could this be from the springs settling and now they are rubbing since they are a tad lower?

also check the ball joint above the tire? hmm, i will go check it out. thanks for the reply! hopefully this will fix it.

86AccordLxi, which was causing the squeak in your case? the ball joint or the sway bar?

Still not quite sure (haven't really checked out my car since i sprayed the WD-40, besides 1 drive), but i'm almost positive it was that joint right above the tire. I hit that thing with a lot of wd40 and i think it may have stopped squeaking, but we'll find out. I'll tell you how it is at the NW meet

My car has the same problem...it always seems to start doing it whenever it gets humid out, we sprayed the upper ball joint with a ton of WD-40 and it stops, I think I need new ball joints, but they look like they might be hard to change?

For the fronts, you need to change the whole arm. For the rear, it's also simple. Get a 2-jaw puller, it's easier that way. Probably less than 20 mins job each side.
