    Problem with lowerin

    ok guys look i have 15" rims and i am gettin it lowered this weekend and in the back it looks like theres no way in hell it will lower 2 1/2 without scrubin, the front wont be a prob but just worried about the back,......what u guys think

    You haven't provided enough information. What size tire's are you running and what offset are your rims? If you do not know the offset of the rims do you know the make a model of rims?

    With the proper offset (40mm, 42mm, 43mm, and 45mm) you can run the correct plus size of 15" tires and lower as much as you dare and not have rubbing problem's, that would mean 195/55-15 or 205/50-15

    If you rims are the wrong offset, like 35mm you will have to get 195-50-15 tires to be able to not rub on the rear fenders. I had a set of 15" rims with 35mm offset(long time ago), and even if I would have rolled my rear fenders they still would have rubbed. Rims I have know are 40mm offset, problem solved.

    my tires are 205-50-15, i dont know about the mm........i know i could prob go a inch maybe a inch 1/2 in the back thats it ,,,,can i roll the fender and keep it off of them

    If you rims are 35mm offset, their's no way rolling the rear fender will allow those tire's to clear. Even if you drop 1.5", it's still going to rub when you carry anything in your car or if you go around corners fast. How offten do they rub as it is right now?

    If I were you I'd postion a floor jack in such a way that you lift a rear corner of the car by compressing the suspension. Your goal is to make the tire go up as high as possible into the fender. That will give you a better idea if rolling the fender would do anything. Either that of have some buddies sit in the back. In any event rolling the fenders is free, you could alway's try it, that way you'd positively know for sure.

    Oh, btw. 195/50-15 vs. 205/50-15 The 195's are narrower so they wound be as close to the fender lip and the 195's aren't as tall, so they will also be further away from the fender lip because of having less height.

    I don't understand why they aren't rubbing now. Surely your suspension use's up enough rear suspension tralvel so that if their going to rub with a car full of people, it will. It doesn't make sense to me that you've never had them rub. Take a look at the rubber molding surrounding the fender lip and inspect it for sign's of rubbing. Also look at the very top of the fender lip, where it's metal and look for sign's of rubbing.

    What I mean about lifting the car with a floor jack, is for you to lift it using a rear suspension piece so that it compress's the suspension as you raise the whole corner of the car as high as possible. That should compress the suspension allot more than when it's just sitting on the ground.
