Who is seriously interested in a cam regrind group buy?

Like the topic says, I maybe able to get a discount by setting up a group buy if I get enough guys interested. It will be from Colt Cams. Now I have no details or anything yet but I thought I'd find out what kind of interest there is first before asking Geoff. Even if it's for a different car, that should be okay too. If you are interested and will have money to spend on this in roughly a month or two, please reply.

At regular price, the cams are about $150 shipped (price depends on type of grind) so whatever discount I can work out with Colt will be taken off from that price . You will be able to choose what kind of grind you want and it will be application specific (carb or efi, auto or 5 speed) so you will be fine. There is also a 5 year waranty. When the deadline is really doesn't matter to me since I am just trying to set it up (I'm not getting mine done) so that can be decided later. I know there have been alot of enquires about cams and since the JDM sidemarker thing went well, I thought I'd try and get one going for cams.

well, I guess I'll raise the first hand....

I'll definitly be in for one. I could use one since I'll be converting to DCOE's soon enough.

Hell, since I just brought another 3G into the family, depending on when this happens, you may be able to mark me down for 2.

I am definitely interested. As long as they can make a cam that would increase torque in both the midrange and top end.

Im in as long as I can throw it in with basically a stock setup w/header , catback, exhaust..... and not have to worry about anything....

It will give you results even with a stock car and the only thing you need to worry about is getting it installed with a new cam seal (about $5) and adjusting the valves.

hey yk87 can you talk to the grinder over there at colt cams to see what the harness of the followwer pad should be ??? im trying to work out an issue with valve guide wear with big overgrinds and colts seems to be just a bit better at regrindes then my local guy. thanx man.i keep getting variying ansewers. BTW but its usually less than half a point either way. either that or can he give me the reduction in base cirle and ill get a batch of folower spacers to be made up for teh group buy. ??i stoped working on new follower pad until someone comes up with a good material spec and hardenss. but the spacers are a cinch.

Okay, here is the deal I worked out with Geoff. For the group buy, if I can get 5-9 cams, I can get a 10% discount. 10 or more, it is a 15% discount. Prices (including the 14.5% tax) for our 12 valve single cams are as follows before discount:
    Standard grind-$129US ($172 CAD)
    Tri-flow grind (offset intake lobes)-$150US ($200 CAD)
Shipping is about $25US to anywhere in the US and about $20US for Canadians (by air and that includes insurance).
If you have a cam that isn't a 12 valve, I will ask for the price. You can get a mild or wild grind in both standard and tri-flow design.

    Funstick-I will ask for you.

whats the differences in the mild and wild cam grinds?? Also, being that i have an 89 lxi, is it possible to incorperate another cam from another 3g into the lxi, not necessarily from another lxi?? Thanx.

we still need to send in a core cam right? So if I send them a cam do I just include a check for $175 for triflow(before discount) and I should be good to go right? I guess this question is mainly about the process of how this all works..

If I can get an answer to the above questions, and if the discount is for sure. Count me in baby!!!!

    peace..
