    easiest swap

I've read the post on all the motors that will fit with mods or hundreds of $s worth of changovers, but what motor is the easiest and most cost effective to put in ? is it the JDM accord b20a?

Wow, for the 90th time, read the faq!

No motor swap is cheap, period.....something always comes into play that screws up your original plan. So save big and hope to spend little.

The B20A is the most economical because it doesn't require as much custom stuff. But like Nate said, count on spending more than you initially plan for.. or make conservative estimates (guess higher than it should actually be and don't start til you have the dough for the MOST it will cost.)

no it kicks the shit out of those things. it's 160hp/140tq.. not sure where it peaks though. i have yet to see an actual powerband graph for one of these things.

It's 160HP@6300 and 137ft-lbs@5000. The B20A can be found for cheap if you look around but it's not as drop in as it seems when it comes to the wiring since it's not just plug and play. The ignition needs modding and a few wires need to be run to the JDM ECU. And finding a 5 speed for it is very tough.

The F2K5 from the Prelude B20A# is the easiest 5spd to source for this engine and ratio-wise is a little better than the B2K5 that came with it originally.

The F2K5 is NOT from a Prelude. It is from the 88-89 JDM Accord B20A(black valve cover). The 2nd gen JDM Preludes with the B20A used the same B2K5 as the 86-87 JDM Accord B20A's(gold valve cover). The B2K5 ratios are the same for both the Accord and Prelude.
