having car trouble

i hace an 88 accord lxi the check engine light is on at all times, but the car had been running good. Now lately since the cold has settled in the car is not running as well, when i get the car warmed up the temp gauge stays at the mid-point line where it usually does but then as i drive for a while the bar drops down to cold and stays there thru out my trip. Any idea what could be causing this?? also where exactly do i find the sensors for the car??

if you check engine light is coming on, check you ecu for the light code. its located underneath the drivers seat. theres a little window that you have to pop out and look inside when the keys are turned on in the ignition. then come back to 3geez.com to find out what it means.

i dont have to remove the seat right?

no just move your seat forward. and look underneath it. im told that there is a 1" x 1" plastic peice that you have to remove from it. but mine was gone on my car. so i can already see into it. you should see a series of flashes.
