    supercharging?? answers?

So with the difficulty of turboing 3gee accords I feel like there should be more supercharged ones. The only thing here is no ones done it and after searching the only reason I can see why is negative feedback.. so for last horrahs can I get a definitife answer on one. What parts would you need to make this work? What kind of supercharger off what car? Why hasn't this been done? And what are current issues that need to be overcome to get people to start doing this? I'm poor and want the cheapest bang for my buck and the price of manifolds is too damn high lol.. so I want to start looking into supercharging.. I have a 1987 lx-I 5 speed hatch fuel injected.. please give input let's do this..

Superchargers are just as expensive as turbo chargers. Most kits are designed to fit a specific engine setup, and would need modification to fit our engines. The only way I could ever see it happening would be with the Jackson racing kit for the b16. The problem is that you would have to redrill the holes to fit out heads. Then there is no telling if the pully will line up. So you taking a $2000 to $4000 chance that might not even work.

Now hear me out... a centrifical? Remove the ac and make a custom mount to fit the a/c bolt holes and using the a/c pulley find the offset you need to make the mount at for the pulley to line up. Just want to start tossing ideas around if there's a short cut in forced induction for these cars our best bet is us. Because I'm sorry I came from a 87 supra n/a 5speed and its a fun car but 100hp is not that fun on straights and a n/a build isn't worth the money

Honestly the biggest problem is that you say you cant afford much. Go look at the price of JUST the supercharger you are thinking about. If you want big power, why not just turbo? Or do an engine swap, the supercharge. There are tons of kits for b-series.

Because for the price of that id start with a better platform I.e. s13 ae86 e30 mk3 supra fc and I could pick anyone of these up (minus the 86) for the price of a b swap or getting a turbo setup and id end with a better result.. my only real interst in this car is I already have it and it has a low curb weight but I wouldn't want to put a ridiculous amount of money into a fwd

These cars arnt really about having what everybody else does, and that's why performance is both challenging and expensive. ShyBoy is right, this car is not for you. With that said lets get some pics of the ride, and where your located?

    Re: supercharging?? answers?

So with a supercharger, you have to build a bracket and a pulley, find a S/C that runs backwards, and fab intake piping. With a turbo, you buy the manifold, bolt it on, fab a downpipe, and fab intake piping. Still have to tune it either way. Not going to make much difference in cost IMO. Both are going to be expensive.
