how much power out of A20A ?

Even thow I'm putting most of my money in my 2002 Protege5 I would still like to filter some down to my '87 lx-i. It is apparent to me that a swap is too costly and too time consuming so I would like to build up my A20A to it's fullest without NOS. What kind of power can I expect from a A20A ? Who has the highest HP A20A on this board and how much HP you running ?

Juan was running a 240hp with NOS set up. ANd Justin is running a turbo and i dont know how much he got. If u got a 86-87 lxi, which u do u got a draw back on two things even in stock.

    1. Intake manifold
    2. Compression

The compression on a 88-89 lxi was 9.3:1 and the intake manifold was a two stage. Get a 88-89 manifold and ur gainng around 5 hp the least.

and other mods are ur freedom :d let ur mind loose on it.

just leave it... or get a header and a cam and then port and polish the head... then get some 10.5:1 pistons and then u will be set

oh yeah, thats true. Forgot that starter.

no green, mine is a 89.

lil, the intake manifold is a direct bolt on. if u use the exhaust manifold, u gotta use a different emission control (different vaccum box and ECU) so u will be better off with getting an aftermarket header.

a 93 z34 that's getting parted out, an 86 accord lx that now lives in a j/y, and a 90 camry le that the state no longer allows me to drive. soon to be replaced with an aprilia rs50 or a derbi gpr.

b-series performance manifolds fit w/ some drilling. higher cost, and more prep for installation, but much better performance and room to expand since the aftermarket is better.

It all depends on how much $$ you want to spend.

I have the jdm manifold. It made a big difference in power but I cut it in half ported it and welded it back together. I also have an rc throttle body and injectors that made a little difference also!
