    Clockwork - My First Honda

Well I figure that I ought a make myself a build thread to document everything that I do.

    1986 Honda Accord LXi

So I picked up this beauty of an accord from a coworker. It has 200k+ on the clock and has a mountain of maintenance records and I was the second owner.

So first things first were to get rid of the horrid seat covers and the cut up pieces of carpet and plastic flooring used to make floor mats. And to give it a wash and to clean the inside up as it had food everywhere.

Re: Clockwork - My First Honda

A couple things I gotta do is to get new taillight and side marker assemblies are broken. And the oil pan gasket is pretty knackered. Plan to make this a nice lowered cruiser.

And the A/C decided to take a crap the day it was like 115*

I went to replace the valve cover gasket and the grommets and to adjust my valves and I forgot to grab the feeler gauge. So I just ended up painting my valve cover.

Also replacing my plugs and wires with some nice, new and blue wires and plugs from NGK.

It's like a burnt orange rust color. I love the look of it.

Edit: just noticed the sticker and it's part # SP402 Burnt Copper

So I get dressed and ready to do the valve adjustments on my car and change spark plugs and wires and I go to get my tools from the back of the honda... and they're gone, somebody has stolen my cornwell tools that I use for fixing my vehicles.

    Kinda bummed out extremely now

Put the new plugs and wires in makes the boring engine bay look a bit more lively.

And this is why I hate living in an apartment. I wish my tools were in a too l box but they were in the back covered up.

I got no updates as of yet as I havent found anything to do yet to it. Except I need to fix some vacuum lines to try to get this idle down.

    Not a big update:

I fixed a couple of vacuum lines that were cracked and I lowered the idle.

The idle screw was all the way out so I had to turn it quite a bit to get it down to around 900-1000 rpms.

And I found out why my A/C went out... the pulley is wobbling quite well lol

Will be trying to find this prime spot that has the vegas Strip in the background to do some photos.

Gonna also get me some bondo and start smoothing out the body to get it ready for paint.

If you don't want that idle screw backing out on you again, dab some RTV over it. Mine came out entirely and disappeared that way.

It backs out by itself? I had no idea. I just figured that it was the previous owner who was trying to screw with it.

Re: Clockwork - My First Honda

Haven't updated in awhile but I'll be going obd1 here soon. A buddy of mine is gonna get me either a PR4 or P75 ecu to use for my swap.

Picked this beauty up a couple days ago. Started stripping everything off to put some new gaskets on and clean it all.

Holy shit is this thing dirty!

Also picked up a new CCW piece also for myself lol

Next thing that I have planned is to get a spare head and cam to get worked on. I'll be going with Delta Camshaft as the 272 is only 72.50$ to get reground.

Now for the head what would be some good mods to do to it so I can utilize all of these add ons??
