    Its Here!!!!!

    Cf hood came today. Sorry no pics YET, and I probably wont be putting it on the car till spring so I cant test fit it. Couple reasons why....1) car is off insurance for winter 2) engine is coming out and the less I play with taking the hood on and off the less chances of scratches 3) its packed so damn well im worried that if i take it all out i cant get it back 2gether. So flame me if you want but ohh well. I did peel back 1 corner and it looks AMAZING!

    Underneath its real nice. Has a fibergalss support, a hook for upfront and all holes are tapped for the grill. Another bonus with the hood were hood pins. No cheesy APC shit, good stuff.

    I will when I get a chance but just from picking this thing up and popping the hood on the car. HUGE DIFFERENCE. At least thats what it feels like.

    with that CF hood, are the hood pins for show or are the funtional? Also, is the origial latch mechanism still used?

    CF hood has the original latch. These are real hood pins. Non of that cheesy Autozone shit.

    Hood pins came for free? Nice. I didn't expect that - a very nice surprise! I'm glad the holes are drilled for the grill too - another nice touch. This shop has been top notch all the way around!

    Congrats, man! Right now you are the only 3G owner that I know if in the world who has a carbon fiber hood.

    excellent, that means mine isnt that far away... anyhow anyone know what the deal is with cold weather and CF hoods, they dont crack or shatter or anything do they, hey site u might even want to email the company if you would. Glad to hear it came with pins too, i was gonna buy a set. good news duude

    Chronic, if I remember correct you are in PA right? If you are I would not put the hood on until spring. I dont know about there but in the winter here tehy throw a lot of salt and sand down with nice little pebbles. So, no sense in getting rock chips in it.

    tru tru, i am in pa the winters suck bad, but im gonna put it on for a while, im in the process of aquiring a crx/EFcivic for the winter, so my CA6 will be in the garage most of the winter, i obviously wont bring it out in shitty salty conditions. im just concerned about the temperature, and hoping for little to no snow

    um well i have one question. how many CF hood are there left. are they gonna make more? cuz i of course want one but the think is i have no money right now. maybe around when spring break is i can have the money but if they dont have anymore i am skrewd. so do they have any more left? post some pix ASAP!!!

    hondaboy, there is a 2nd group buy for carbon fiber hoods. money is due by december 6. thread is in classifieds.

    on another note, is the hood predrilled for the hood pins, or do we have to drill the holes ourselves?

    oh yeah, there is a carbon fiber article in the december 2002 issue of sport compact car.
