Fuel Pump or Pressure Regulator Failing? (W/video)

Sometimes, when I crank my car, the fuel pressure is almost perfect.
    <a href=http://s875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/firefighterwhite89/?action=view&current=VID_20130802_213238_zps6e dab5ef.mp4 target=_blank><img src=http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/firefighterwhite89/VID_20130802_213238_zps6edab5ef.mp4 border=0 alt=Close To Perfect Fuel PSI ></a>

Sometimes, its way too low and doesn't like idling...
    <a href=http://s875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/firefighterwhite89/?action=view&current=VID_20130802_214347_zps26 416044.mp4 target=_blank><img src=http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/firefighterwhite89/VID_20130802_214347_zps26416044.mp4 border=0 alt=Too Low Fuel PSI ></a>

I'm not sure if its the Pressure regulator or the Pump itself failing. I did notice sometimes, when I shut it off, the pressure bleeds off about 1 PSI every 30 seconds...sometime it holds while its off. Opinions? Ideas?

A few times, at WOT, I spiked 45PSI, three different times...I'm leaning towards regulator...the pump is 5 years old or so...

Reading some articles, I'm pretty sure it's my FPR failing, for these reasons:
1.Engine won't idle without spitting and sputtering and occasionally stalling.
2.Sometimes the car wont start or have fuel pressure until it turns over at least 5+ times with a full tank.
3.New development of black smoke staining at the tailpipe/bumper.
4.FPR holds vacuum but the vacuum line smells heavy of fuel.

a friend told me the regulator electrical connections are usually the culprit. he said take the connector apart and check for loose electrical pins and to re-solder [solder] the connections my 89 accord automatic starts and runs fine until it warms up but then it idles rough and has stuttering at certain [lower] rpm ranges. to the point of having to hold my foot on the brake pedal and the accelerator at stop lights. It acts like a vacuum leak same sorta symptoms. He said the electric pressure regulator is under the dash. does anyone have a picture of this regulator so i can locate it?

My Fuel Pressure Regulator is definately the culprit. The gauge was acting up and would drop really low at times because of the ring i used to ground it to had been bent by assuming it was my foot and was breaking off slowly. Fixed that. Now the readings are to a T. I sit Idling at 52PSI. WOT(Wide Open Throttle) runs 60PSI. It's the culprit for the:

-Black powder/ash looking dust on the rear around the exhaust exit.
    -The Added power above 3500RPMs.
-The terrible less than 15MPG I've been getting. (It takes me a literal quarter of a tank of gas to go to work then straight home which is around 3.5 gallons or so in an 80 mile trip.)
-That excellent taste of rich exhaust when doing 60+MPH down the highway and when idling.
    -The random stalling at times.
    -The rough jumpy Idling.

BLOX Adjustable FPR is in the mail on its way here from California. It's coming to Alabama via FedEx though...And we all know how they like to dick around with your package. Throwin stuff and delaying delivery dates.

    It's golden!

Pico has a write-up on how to install these on our stock FPR somewhere on this site.

    good detective work.

the stock fuel pressures are listed in the book some where. I am guessing 38 psi.

Yes sir. At Idle, it's supposed to be 33PSI. At WOT;38 PSI
