    I am the man

Ok people, I now say that I am the man. For a simple reason. I have found a site that has B20B VTECs for 3400.00-complete & a B16B for 2700.00 w/ 20k kilometers. Sounds to good to be true huh. Well its not, I have found the mystical site.

If you shop around you will find good prices and that B16B is not that good. I found one for $2300. If your gonna spend over 3k you might as well get a GSR.

why get a GSR when you can get a Type R with more horses & toqure? Not to mention a B16B motor cost close to $5.000.

Your talking about the crv motor right? The crv motor isn't vtec, you have to add that on. Or did you find a place that selling them allready converted? Or am I miss understanding the engine numbers?

For one a B16B has 185hp and 118ft/lb of torque and a GSR B18C1 has 170hp and 128ft/lb of torque. I almost picked up a B16B for $2000 no tranny or Ecu but i didnt need either of them. The only reason i wanted it was because it had only 13k on it and i dont feel like rebuilding a whole motor because its expensive. The B16B has more Hp but lower torque but dont forget the B16B is pretty modified already so a GSR has more potential with the same head package.

neuspeed007: "you OWN it" not "you WANT it", and there's a "yo" at the end of all that to make an extra endline rhyme. sorry im a lyricist, i hate seeing misquoted lyrics.

    don't go with Type R..
they are way to over-rated.. i was gonna get one myself..
    i was contiplating a b18c1 or the JDM b18c5...

however.. the most economical and more aftermarket support is going for the b16a..
drop a vtec head on it and your set..
you can totally do up the entire engine and end up with more power then the over-rated type r motor for alot less...

You would be amazed by what out there for Type R Tegs, Plus it doesnt take much to make them fast. here in US there arent many things for it but if you go to Japan, there is a mad market out for it

Ok 3RD GEN, A B16A is already Vtec so you dont have to convert it. I agree that Type R's are expensive but i may get one if i can still find one for 2k given i dont need the tranny or ecu. The only reason i am doing this is because the one i found for 2k only had 13k on it so i wont have to rebuild the whole thing. I would never spend 5k for a stock motor but say i did buy a B16A as i planned b4 then i would end up dumping atleast another 1500 or so into rebuilding (bringing the price to about $2700min) plus all the mounts and crap. This is why i may buy a B16B for 2k plus tranny and ecu and i will have pretty much a new motor. If i can still get one for that price that i passed up b4 (dumb move by me)

I think 3rd GEN was talking about the B18A non-vtec motor. Also, most big Japanese companies have made their way to the US. I buy a magazine called Vtec Sports (a monthly Japanese mag) and most of the stuff I see in their parts catalogue is sold over here. Only thing is, it's about 25% cheaper in Japan.

ya.. I was talkin about non-vtec motors...
i mean..economically.. you would be far better off buying a b18a, dropping a vtec head on it, then building it up.. and you would bein the some hp and tq range as a type r for alot less.. mind you, you could also incorporate type r parts into the motor...

thats why i would go with a cheaper motor like a b16a or b18 and go that route

    my point exactly...
see how damn cheap these things are..

compared to a JDM b18c5 i was quoted at for $7000CDN

for the leftover 6gs after buyin a b16...you could totally have that thing built up and still have a few bills left over
