Carbon Fiber Hood - Hoodpins How-To

88LXi68 has received his carbon fiber hood and it came with hood pins! A very nice surprise. For the 9 of us who bought the hoods through the group buy (see https://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6456 if you want to read about this) I found this page with a good how-to for installing the hood pins:

I am scared to put the hood pins in, because I know I am going to cry when I drill in to the hood .

If the install on the hoodpins is anything like installing them on a regular hood it should be a peice of cake. Look in the how to section....also maybe you should practice on your old hood if your freaked out about drillin it. I was freeked when I drilled my hood but it came out great. Check out the how too section..also what kind of hood pins are they??

yeah practice on your old hood. or go to junk yard and drill holes out there.
than you can take measurements and putt them on CF hood. this way you should make one time drill and be done with it.

Cuz the hood will flip up...crack in two, and smash your windshield in the process.

I did say hello! They ignored me!! :lol But the reason I ask is:: I like things that look clean. So when I get the CF hood, I want to keep it looking clean..

go on the highway without your hood latched shut and see what happens, and if the CF hood has a spot for the stock latch you dont need hood pins, you can do one or the other, or both
