Started daily driving mine for about 3 weeks now. It's been great and running well. I forgot how much I miss the analog guages and seeing the odometer roll numbers. Also the handling, took a clover at 70mph and the car went around it like it was nothing.

Haha thanks. I wish it looked that good, but the paint is faded on the roof, and the rear rocker panels and wheel arches are all rusted out. Interior is pretty clean though. She's a good daily driver for a while.

Did you put in an A20 engine ? Where did you find it ? I'm up to a point that I am considering putting either another head or even another A20A3 engine. But here in mid FL, I cannot find any JY that has a 3G.

Im still around with the same 88 it's been sitting for years. My civic blew up at work so I decided to revive the old 3g rather than get into a new car. Battery alternator fluids and it's alive I have used it at work now 2 nights no problem and that's 4 paper routes at 150 miles a night I'm very impressed needs alota work though it's getting a oil pan as I type

Still around, still got my 89 that I've had since, I think, 07? It's cool to see a lot of names I remember from the time I spent much more time on here years back.

Still like to come here, especially when Facebook irritates me. All the knowledge is here. I still have my LXi coupe which I just took out of winter (Ohio) storage, and now that I can’t go very far, my LXi hatch project should see serious progress this summer. Nice to “see” all of you.

    Re: Anybody Still Left......

Hi!!! I don't get here nearly as often as I should... but I get on Facebook even less.

Crazy my last post with my "new" red hatch was almost one year ago! I guess I built it somewhat properly, as I still drive it every day.

My only problem I've had with it is when I let someone else jack it up, it slipped off the jack and broke the radiator.

Then one of the main grounds broke. The ring terminal was crimped totally flat, which caused all of the copper strands to fatigue and break.

The transmission has been doing a fun grind noise when it goes into park since day 1. To avoid it, I start and stop the engine in neutral. I'm honestly surprised the transmission hasn't grenaded with me dailying this thing in Seattle traffic, and putting the pedal down hard.

    Re: Anybody Still Left......

I'm daily driving mine, for the most part. I need to do a lot of work on it, but none of it urgent. It's normal age-related stuff like replacing all the bushings, redoing the braking system and upgrading to coilovers. I alternate with the 4g, which is mine since Mom passed away in 2018. I'm finishing up a major service on the 4g, including timing belt, water pump, valve adjustment and oil pump. The 4g has the most extraordinary oil pump, which requires you to remove the timing belt and drop the oil pan to remove. The pump itself is integrated into the front of the engine block. It's a real Rube Goldberg contraption. Which is in keeping with the profoundly complicated balance shaft business that originated on this engine. The shafts require a separate timing belt and a lot of jitterbugging to keep them in phase with the cam come belt replacement time. What a dumb design, like most of this stupid car. The 3g had rotor on hub brakes, but then in 1990, they had the great idea to reverse that and go back to hub over rotors. Grrr.

The car knows I don't like it, which is why it fights me every time I attempt to work on it. This time, the studs on the exhaust manifold galled and broke off. So I bought a new one on eBay and waited a week to get it. Every time it's like that on this one.

Still, it's quiet, smooth and comfortable and has a double-wishbone suspension, so it handles great. Best of all, I can actually buy parts for it, unlike the 3g. It would be more fun if the engine didn't have low-oil pressure, low compression and a lot of blowby. Everything else is in pretty good shape, except for the body which seems to be covered in random bonks and scrapes.

    Hey all,

AcidX and I still hang around. We're actually on a discord call right now reminiscing about the forum. I don't drive a 3g anymore, sold it to another member here. He did a few things with it, from what I recall. Anyway, wanted to check in and say suuuuuppppp.

Its kinda funny seeing the signatures I used to design for ya'll and I like that some people took over my sticker business I used to run here. haha Some of you all still have my shirts too! lol.

I'll toss in my "I'm still here" post. I'm Still here.

I was beyond discouraged by the damned "black box" on the '86 LX. I finally cobbled something together and managed to get that effing thing back on last night after far too many hours. I plan to post this one - with pictures - after I finish with the PCV install. You LXi guys had it easy on this one...
