    Possessed Car

When I have my car in park sometimes, the car revs by itself. for example, it goes from 1,000 to 3,000 rpms and I am not touching anything. I just had my transmission replaced. Please someone tell me what it might be, i'm thinking that maybe it may be my fuel filter because i have never replaced that but i'm not sure. Thanks for the help in advance.

On your throttle body, there's a screw. It could just be the screw that is loose that needs to be tightened.

lol u all sound so funny, in the owners manual it states that this usually will happen in cold climates, in fact it happens to my car everyday, start her up revs to like 3000 and stays there, after like 5-10min after it begins to warm up the owners manual says to press the gas in (which will make it rev to like 3-4000) and slow release it, which works cuz i do it every morning since it's gotten cold here, i'm not sure what the cause is, but u shouldn't be alarmed.

Have you ever replaced the thermostat? If so, make sure it's a 192 degree or higher if your in a colder climate. This might make a difference.

fast idle is high for a carb than a efi, if a efi does this, then its something wrong. it could be ur fast idle valve on ur TB

I don't know if this answers anything, but I get that issue right after I change the oil and filter. It only happens a couple times then goes back to normal.

hmmm... thats a really interesting thing u just said caddy. i have no clue why the car would do that right after u change the oil. Hmmm.... my guess is that it could be ur PCV valve leakin. check to see if its leaking and if not i have no clue what might be wrong, consdering that u say it happens right after u change the oil.
