2. where can i get thin piece of gasket to make my own gasket?

3. i know it is retarded, but does anyone know where i can find thin headgasket made for A20 block?

P.S. why do i want thiner headgasket. well, i am gonna use A20 block, drop A20A3 head (9.3:1 compressio), and with thinner gasket i want to increase the compressio with out buying high comprtessio pistons.

oh yeah, one more question,
Does anyone know how much would JE high compressio pistons cost if i deside to order them?

I've got an extra stock headgasket at home and it's pretty freaking thin. I've heard of people making head gaskets from copper sheeting - thin and strong!

I think custom pistons (JE or Wiseco) will run you around $500 (included in that cost is rings and wrist pins, too). Someone found turbo pistons for $100 on JG Engine Dynamic's website in June, but that's an extremely unusual deal. Pistons alone should cost you between $300 and $400.

You will need the a20a3 block that has the higher 9.3:1 pistons. The head is the same I think. As for thinner gaskets, make sure you get a good one. I've seen guys with copper ones and they've had nothing but problems from leaks and told me never to buy one. They pretty much said that stock type has certain areas a bit thicker so that when the head is put on and torqued down, those areas get extra sealing where as the copper ones are the same thickness everywhere.

ok hold on. how can A20A3 block can be diff.
i can see that stock pistons on A20A3 ('88-'89) are diff and that is why it make all this compressio, but i don't see how the the block can make a diff. A20 engines have the same bore and stroke so it is all the same.
But if the pictons on '88-'89 EFi are diff than WOooooooHOooooo!!!!
does anyone know if the pictons are diff?

Sorry, I kind of took the easy route to explain. The 88-89 block contains the higher compression pistons but the rest of the block is the same (the rear coolant line might be a bit different). So to get the higher compression you want, you can take a stock 88-89 EFI engine and just swap the manifolds and harness from your original engine.

well, i have to block, so i think i am gonna just get '88-'89 rebuild kit. i want to rebuild it myself. i have never done it, so i wanna try it.
