    WTB Carb

Well, I think that my carb is screwed up on my car, just wondering how much a used carb goes for. How hard is it to change the carb? Anyone selling a good used one?

    thanks

yep I have an extra one of those. Do you want just the carb or the whole engine or the intake manufold. Ive read someplace that if the carb gets tilted upside down it needs a rebuild though. Not sure if this holds water but it may need to be asked. If you want it let me know

I've tilted my carb and it never got messed up... I would suggest rebuilding the carb anyways while it's off the manifold.

When removing and installing the carb, be really careful around the thermovalves... they have plastic vacuum ports that can snap off.

Quick pic of my carb. I dont know mileage, but my father was a Honda Tech and has a lot of extra parts and such. This carb is freaking clean, so I think its relatively new.

Be sure the carb will work with your car. Make sure it's off the same model etc so you don't have to mess around with modifying it. I got one off here and found out it wouldn't work with my car.

Sorry if I am stepping on anyones toes but I got a perfectly good used carb from a junked 86 lx at the yard for $20. I would say check your local salvage yard for any accords.

I have my old one off of my 89 LX 5 speed for sale. It only had 120k on it. I would also suggest a rebuild just b/c it's easier when you can do it off the car. Pm me if you're interested.

Thanks everyone. I have a 89 Auto LX. I didn't know that they used different carbs. I'll have to take a look at mine to see what the deal is.

I looked real quick but couldn't find a how to for a rebuild or replacement. Any help? I have a Haynes manual too.

    thanks

I assumed it is from a 3g because there are only 2 butteflies and I thought the number of butterflies is BBL. Am I wrong?

Manual and Auto carbs are the same... but the linkages are different and some of the vacuum hoses are different.

can you take a pic of the top of the carb looking down tru the barrels... or any other holes in the top of the carb. It might be a 2bbl civic Keihin.
