Lxi valve cover on an lx?

Like it says can I use an Lx-i valve cover on a carbed engine? I know it looks like it would fit and everything but the hose that hooks onto the valve cover is on the wrong side. I think it would work ok if i could extend the hose but how? has anyone else done this? thanks.

I'm pretty sure you can use it, if I recall someone mentioned it before.

I thought i read it somewhere before too but that nubby thing on the top of the valve cover there is a little too far over for the hose from the air filter box to reach. Do I need it? if i do has anyone extended it? or am i stuck for now?

Yes it will fit... You won't have the studs for the brace that extends off the front of the air cleaner, so you can remove that when you put on the new valve cover.

holy shit jim... that is the sweetes paint job I have seen yet.

Just get a small valve cover breather filter and plug the hose on the air box side. That way you won't have to extend the hose.

or you can get some hose from the autopart store and use that as a replacement hose.

even with a longer tube, the angle that the tube would have bend would be so much that it will cause it to crimp.

Thanks mike, that the one I painted for bobafett. I used about 5 layers of paint and at least 5 layers of clear coat and a whole lot of anger words, cause their real hard to do and NOT mess up when it come's to removing the paint off the raised ribs and lettering.
