    Main Relay

When your main relay goes out does your check engine light stop coming on.

I assume you are talking about a properly operating main relay (and car).

Yes, when you turn your key to the 2nd position before starting, (all the lights come on) you hear a click (main relay) your fuel pump goes *whir*, and then, you hear a click again, and the fuel pump stops *whiring* and the PGM-FI light goes off..

That's what a normal system would sound like.

It doesn't do that so it must be the main relay.
    Thanks

pull out your main relay for shits and giggles and try to start your car.. see if your PGM-FI light comes on...

Mine did when mine went out.. one of the things i noticed other than the car cranking and not starting.
This useless space for sale, please inquire at the front desk.

yep the PGFM light goes off once the pump stops (on the second click of the relay). Also, if u have a 12" extension, a swivel joint and a 10mm socket, u dont have to take ur dash off to get to it.

Yeah, but rob49 asked "When your main relay goes out does your check engine light stop coming on."

So the answer to rob49 is no.
