Stock size should be 195/60R14 for 88-89 LXi/SEi and 185/70R13 for everything else 1986-1989. Assuming stock wheels.

Walmart.ca shows a tire in that size. I assume others will too. Very rarely are tires sizes completely discontinued especially for something as popular as a Honda Accord.

Tirerack shows 8 tires in that size, you should be able to find one of those at a tire retailer in Canada.

But as far as the tires you've got, if the manufacturer says you can run them on the width of wheels you've got, and as long as they calculate out to about the same diameter as stock you should be fine.

walmart ships them from the states and tire rack is a united states company. here the tire is discontinued there rare to find. i was looking at a tire calculator and it sais with the 185/65r14 im doing a .7 difference from the orignal tire speed so i dont know if i should go with this tire size rather the the 185/70r14 which is a 2.7 difference. what would you suggest

Believe it or not but the stock 195/60/14 is getting harder to find in the states too. 14s have been going out and 15s and 16s are the norm. 15s are probably give you the most selection and therefore a little cheaper. But it sounds like your worrying about speedo and gas mileage. Running a different size over a long time yes will change things. However, every tire even if marked the same size can be a little different based on the shape/geometry of the tire. Also running worn down tires makes them shorter than stock as well so there is many factors yes. I'm running 205/45/16s and they're supposedly 0.22% different from stock. I'd say for price get 15s, for closeness get 16s but it sounds like you've already bought tires so I'm not sure why you're asking now...but for future reference there you go.

Nobody has mentioned the other cost factor, the cost of wheels, in this scenario. And, larger tires also cost more than 14 inch tires, assuming factors other than size are the same. This is why I'll stick with 14 inch (196/60R/14) on my 88 Accord. I don't believe finding that size in the U.S. is going to be very difficult for some time yet.

I'm rather surprised to hear this as well. The last time I purchased 195/60R14's (Michelin-X) was 10 years ago. Checking the Michelin Canada web site indicates that they no longer produce this tire size. But, it appears that other tire manufacturers do produce them for sale in Canada. Even the Canadian Tire web site shows several 195/60R14's including the BFGoodrich g-Force Super Sport all season touring tire.

I'm no tire expert but I can't imagine that going with a 185/65R14 will cause any harm but I expect that your speedo will be off by a small amount due to the slightly different profile. I suspect that the extra 1/2 inch diameter shouldn't create any clearance issues assuming that your suspension is stock. But, I let those more knowledgeable confirm this.
