    Return to 3geez

Alright if y'all didn't know I sold my old 89 accord about a month ago. Well about two weeks ago a red coupe was for sale. It's a fuel injected model. Auto. They said it has a miss too it. I've been holding back on asking if they still have it. With it having a miss to it, what do y'all think would cause it to miss. I have some ideas but just asking y'all what it could be. If I do get it well I will have to swap it to a manual and maybe do that B series I wanted to do with my old accord. I love two doors better. But anyways, just letting y'all know that I still think about these cars long after I got rid of mine. Here are the pictures of the car I am looking at. Looks pretty damn good.

Miss could be plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, dizzy, coil, timing, valves, wiring, ecu and ECT. Depending on what its doing. When you do get it, you should replace half that anyways. Along with oil and trans fluid change. How much for that 3g? Nice find.

A miss could also include a burned valve, cracked piston or other kind of hidden horror. Do your due diligence including a compression test and above all, listen to your gut. If something doesn't seem right, walk away. Hope it works out and you get a great car.

The said stuff has been replaced. expect timing belt and distributor. I will be picking it up for 450. 50 bucks more then my last one. Here's the ad for it. I have talked to them. We agreed on 450 and I will drive and inspect it before I totally go in full hearted. 1989 Honda Accord LXI That's the ad. Most of all I am mostly interested in it cause its already injected and I have some parts from my old car lol. I still am finding parts from it too. I still have the head and block from it too lol. I should have stashed my pistions and rods away too for safe keeping but that went with the car. I Think I kept the distributor though. Anyways, No mater what I am very interested in it. Looks very virgin. Virgin meaning hasn't been modified. So hope in a month it will be in my garage lol.

Well the guy sold the car out from under me. So yeah I'm not very happy. I am waiting on a response about the escort too. If that falls through well then I will never ever buying a sport compact or import ever again. I'll stay with trucks and muscle cars. Never had much love from the import world anyways. I will say that my time here was great. May have had some run in's but as a whole this group is pretty good. Wish I could say that for the truck and muscle car world. Heck, I see the whole automotive world in crisis. We're all in this together. In order for the culture to stay alive we need that family atmosphere. Not this broken family atmosphere. And I don't mean bring the family car to be in car shows. Leave it in the parking lot where it belongs. These are dark times and I'm seeing a small amount of us selling out or just walking away. But the real car guys and gals stay through the dark times. After all, we came up from the bottom didn't we? I know I did.

I don't know what you're refering to as dark times in the auto entheusist world, looks ok to me. I do see a lot of would be clients for reviving a cool car taking thier money to the dealerships buying any one of the pretty cool cars made in the last 3-4 years.

    Re: Return to 3geez

Was just a bad day for me. Makes me mad that he sold the car out from under me but oh well. I'm not empty handed cause I still have my truck that's still running strong. And it's not too bad on gas. Mainly a work truck. Can't really cruise with it. I can but gas isn't cheap. But it's more fun to park and just hang out inside of driving all over the place getting kicked out. Gives me an excuse to save more money to put into my truck. Efi conversion, 2 1/2-4" drop kit, body mods. No doubt sound deaden and insulate my cab because it's cold as hell now and hot as hell in summer. And you hear everything outside of the truck. At least I have that truck running right for once.
