    Hey Jim,

Please don't move this to general even though it is biased that way. I usually put posts where they go so don't attack me. If I have a stock wheel with 25.4mm offset and 6.06 in of backspacing and I got an aftermarket wheel with 19mm and 5.5 in of backspacing what will the finished product look like? Will the wheel stick out more, less ......will I still be able to lower and not rub assuming the stock layout doesnt'? (By the way this is for my other ride)
In the end...it doesn't even matter.

The only time I'd move something out of this section, even if it's not for a 3g, is because I would feel that you'd stand a better chance of getting a answer. As long as it's on topic, (in this case it is), I really won't move things out.

I've run into "backspacing" at web site selling steel racing rims. I tried to make sense of what they said it was and I still don't understand it. I did not however try to find any other site that might explain it better. I'll see what I can find out, but I might not be able to answer your question, but I will try.

I hope this helps. I get the impression that is factors in when you get wheel widths that are much wider than stock.

back spacing is the distance from the mount surface to the edge of the rim. if you want the rim to stick out of the body, u get like 0 backspacing. then the mount surface is at the back of the rim and the whole rim sticks out. off set is the distance from the imaginary center of the rim to the mounting surface. i know more about wheels than the wheel moderator!!! yee haa!
