i found that 88-00 civic coilover should fit. they cost $135 at a local performance shop. i am thinking about trying them out for ambers car. if so that opens up a lot of possibilities for us...
from a visual comparison it should work!
hey guys, i hav an 86 prelude and i am in need of coilovers soon aswell. actually within the next week. i wanted to know if the coilovers from your guy's cars will fit on our 86 ludes. i have a set of KYB gr-2 struts on order. and i need somthing to go with them asap... if you guys know anything about this please please e-mail me with some info asap... thanks guys
Oh god, GR-2's should never be used on a lowered car. They are oem replacements, their not stiffer than stock. And coilovers do not have progressive springs in them, your gonna feel how weak those GR-2's are much more than if you went with lowering springs. If you can get Koni's for your car, spend the money to do it right or you'll have a sickening ride quality and lower performance. Tokico H.P.s are only slightly stiffer, not enough to be used with stiffer lowering springs or coilovers either.
My g/f bought a set of Sprint Springs and put them on her 91 accord and they are AWESOME. It dropped her car 3" in the front and 3.5" in the back. The struts are working fine and there is no hard jolting AT ALL. They corner AWESOME. She paid like 210 installed for the whole set. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking to get good springs for a hella good price.
If the 4th gen springs/coil overs work on the 3geez, then thats what i'm going to get. I'm gonna stay away from coilovers because i've heard too many bad things about the adjuster sleeve breaking and stuff. Also, you probably wanna stay away from aerospeed. my buddy put them on his civic hatch and they ride like SHIT. The car bounces like no tomorrow and they ride like fred flinstones car. I have heard that Skunk2 coilovers are good quality though and dont have a reputation of breaking.
I've noticed that almost everybody here says to replace the struts when getting lowering springs. I personally only know 1 or 2 people who have replaced the struts when lowering their car. Everybody else doesnt and never has problems with performance. Of course its ideal to replace the struts, but its not really necessary in my mind.

Ok I got an 88 Accord DX Hatchback. It's allready lowered but handles very badly in my opinion. It bounces around way too much. I've been looking around for coilovers but so far no one I have seen goes back as far as an 88 3rd generation accord. Help pleas!!!Originally Posted by Jims 86LXI HB
I have a set of weapon R circuit pro coilovers. I bought them for $200 but I have a bad oil leak on my 88 Lx-i 2 door, so it's really not worth installing them now. I also have front KYB GR-2 and rear tokico HP struts that i bought for around $200. If anyone needs a full suspension, this would be a good pick. I really wanted to put these on my car but now I might as well get rid of them. I'll sell everything for $300, so if anyone is interested email me at [email protected]
What is the average price to install coilover springs?
go here they are cheap use the search bar they are yellow set of 4 and it can lower up to 4 inch http://www.modsearch.com/activity.php have fun searching
o they are coilovers
RACTIVE! 88-91 Civic/Intergra 200 bucks CAD. Amazing, have had em in my car for 3 yrs, Still work perfect!
so if the coilovers from those models will fit our cars... will the shocks, struts and springs also fit???Originally Posted by 89 Accords Rock
