    A20 head airflow

Has anyone had their cylinder heads in an airflow bench? (hope u know what I mean).

My friend has a professional machine shop down here and he has this "airflow bench". He told me that he worked (VERY slightly modified) a customers 12v head to FLOW enough for about 175 horsepower. (don't know about the valve lift he used though.) What is the stock flow in hp?

I would like to know about other results if there are any.

I'm going to take my head there next summer. If you want I can put the flow prints (before and after) here when the time comes.

    Thanks!

thats one interesting post. I never heard of a airflow bench. was that 175hp on natrual aspiration or is that how much hp the 12V motor could handle? besides what was the head from? u know different displacement engines have different head sizes.

The head was from an a20a2. It was in natural aspiration. He's not sure about those figures but he remembers it's close. So without forced induction that would be the max from this a20 head (again there was only minor porting).

He also reworked this cars cosworth head. Check it out

so he knows what he's doing.
