    Cold Air Intake??????????????

Ok...I got A question. If I was to get a Cold Air intake, which one do I get. I'm not talkin' about gettin' one for a 3geez. But I was wondering...On a iceman...is it the filter that makes the performance??? or is it the metal pipin'? I was wondering...can I get a cheap ass cold air intake...and just put a K&N filter on it???? Or does the metal piping really matter???

The piping does matter. The material and paint used will keep the inside air temperature down from the hot engine bay. The routing and curves of the piping also makes a difference for air flow. From what I've read, AEM is the best. Injen is good also.

agreed... I'm a big Injen fan myself... I like their product. It's not a hit-or-miss type of company. You always get what you pay for from them. Just IMO.

Iceman makes power, but I'm going to have to go with AEM. They have the best reputation, Injen has had a lot of problems with their heat shields cracking (which is the only reason I like AEM better).

No. Like I said alot of things come into play. Unless you know the specifics of the no name brands. I'm not saying it doesn't give any gain, but the gain might not be comparable to those who has done hours of R&D and countless dynos.

Red face The pipe is very important

In fact the pipe is really important i you're using a short one.
The best is a plastic pipe, the problem with it obviously is a bad appearance.

I suggest you aluminium pipe, it look's great however it doesn't work like a plastic one.

Remember when you use intake system its very important catch cold air from anywhere, the steel pipe use to get warm easily.
