If it's still possible to get a used Japanese engine for these, then it's worth considering. Of course, if I do, then Mom will want to keep the car, so I'm not super excited about repairing it. Even with a good engine, the car isn't going to be worth more than $2,000, so it doesn't make any sense to try to fix it. Especially when I hate the car. My feeling is to sell it immediately while it still runs. Oil pressure is down to 5 psi at idle from 7 just last week, so I don't think it will be long before I start hearing rock and roll coming from the crankcase. Mom is of a different mind. She wants to drive it till it stops, so I guess it's moot. When it stops, I'll try to sell it as is and scrap it if I can't.
