If you sell your minty SE-i you should be able to get upwards of 7k
Clean looking car
Probably close to 9k considering the 5-speed. One owner California car all its life. Now in my climate controlled "barn" in Vermont. I purchased the last know amplifier know to exist. My Bose CD radio works. So you out there wishes to purchase my 89 SEi?
Only if it was the gray se-i
1989 Honda Accord LX-i
B18c1 swap since 7/2011
175whp and 132tq
Redzone tuned
You'll have a better chance at selling it on:
Honda and Acura News, Racing, Articles, High Mileage Stories, Recommended Shops, Repair Resources, History, Vanity Plates
or
This Old Honda, Antique, Vintage, and Classic Honda and Acura Automobiles
How are we coming up with values of $7 and $9k? Dealer values top out at $7,650 (1989 Honda Accord 2 Door Coupe SEI Value, Prices & Specs | NADAguides | NADA 1989 Honda Accord Book Value & 1989 Honda Accord Market Price). Private party values will be considerably lower. And last I checked, people are still buying these cars for $400 running.

This has to be the most beautiful third gen accord I've ever seen. That leather looks very nice, and the paint is clean!
Thanks. California car. One owner. The FULL leather interior is hand sewn & new. Cost me 5,050.00 including carpets, headliner, back window shelf and speakers covers, plus all door cards WHOOSH!
The paint was merely polished by an experienced body man.
The problem was the owner serviced the car at an independent garage! I paid the Honda dealer, Folsom Lake Honda, to repair the mistakes, replace non-factory parts with factory parts. Even purchased the very last Bose amplifier! Window washer bottle is special to the SEi. Go figure! The sunroof was inoperable for 9 years. Cost me 340.00 for the motor, installed!
Now no leaks, runs perfect, A/C cold, sits in my garage waiting for a new owner.
A question: NADA shows a 2bbl carburetor on the SEi. Mine is fuel injected. Was there ever a SEi with a 2bbl carburetor?
That is why my SEi is insured as stated value of 7,690.00. I provided receipts in the amount 10,431.71 I spent on the my SEi in 2013. Dealer repair cost and new leather interior. Someday the private parties will pay the NADA price. The 7,690 price is for a not perfect driver with nice interior, paint and mechanics. not a 100 point show car. Mine certainly fits the non-show car specs.

I get it. You're selling a full restoration. It is a beautiful car and I respect the work you've put into it. I'll be curious to see what you end up getting for it. I fully expect these cars to become very valuable someday. We're only beginning to see that collector interest now after 3g values were appalling for a number of years. At some point, the normal used car cost curve becomes irrelevant as things like good condition, factory paint and OE body panels become impossible to find. I think you will definitely get your price if you wait long enough, but it may not be right now.
I certainly wish you well in your sale. After all, the more you get for yours is the more mine is worth. LOL

Thanks. I could not allow the original owner selling the car. I paid five hundred dollars after three months of cajoling her to sell. The interior was gone due to California sun during the day. The car was garaged at night. Her husband got sick, the car sat for three years. I towed to the Honda Dealer with orders to fix as needed! Past work discovered a mechanic used a chisel to replace the crank seal! The dealer installed a Honda repair sleeve; replaced cam seal and crank seal; new oil pan; oil breather tube. The timing set @ 13-15 degrees it was 23 degrees; the timing chain was replaced by a"independent mechanic". The mechanic misaligned the teeth on the cam shaft to crank! The owner wonder why it pinged! thank good ness they were old people driving. No valve or piston damage. Even the cruise control switch was installed upside down! The car leaked oil so much the oil carried back to the muffler. The dealer was unable to locate axel as the each axel delivered the splines were incorrect. Any suggestion where I can purchase? I won't sell the car until the value matches the market. My insurance is stated value, so if I total the car, I get my price!
wow that's clean!!!

The axles should be readily available, but you'll have to go with an aftermarket supplier. Don't buy reman axles. I've been running the EMPI axles on mine for a long time now and have been really happy with them. They are new, but don't look anything like the OE axles, unfortunately. If OE look is important, then you might have to rebuild the ones you have.

So mint. I love the interior
Beautiful Se-i you have. That interior is really really nice, and makes me a bit jealous.
That being said, I hope you find a good buyer for the car. Personally I would rather spend that kind of money on a 3g like the one recently posted in eastern Canada with under 100k original kms and all original. Has the car been in any accidents? All original body work?

Hot damn! That is one sexy SEi coupe, and a 5 speed to boot. 3g perfection.
