    timing belt question

ok my timing belt is good and everything but i was just wondering, do u bend valves when u break the belt only? cuz when mine went it just stripped a few teeth off, (it happend a few months ago) i heard breaking the belt is when damage happens and when it just strips a few teeth it doesnt damage nothing.

    some one clear this up

    thanx

If it stripped and actually threw the cam gear off by three teeth, the piston may have knicked the valve. It all depends on how much it went out of sync. The worst is when the piston is at the top and the valve is also all the way open.
