transmission for b20a

well just about the only thing that is holding me back from doing the swap is the transmission. Will any USDM 5 speed trans work? Is the trans that came from the JDM b20a accord the only one that will work?

You can't use ANY USDM tranny on the JDM B20A. You might be able to use the Accord B18A tranny, but you will have to check with Carotman on that. No, that isn't the same as the 'teg B18A.

The transmission from the JDM B18A Accord (dual carbed) might work too. I'm looking into that next week

Yes, only the JDM B20A tranny will work and their are 2 versions of it depending on yr.

F2K5 and B2K5 to be exact

The Vigor seems to have the same tranny numbers too.

I dont see how the Vigor transmission could work. The Vigor has a longitudinally mounted engine.

There was a 1st gen and 2nd gen Vigor in Japan. The 2nd gen was the same years as our Accord (86-87) and looked pretty much identical and also shared the same B20A motor and tranny. The 1st gen JDM Vigor was 82-85 I think).

really? I had no idea! As you can see I was thinking of the USDM Vigor. :)
