So I have noticed that sometimes when I shift the car from park to reverse, it clunks sort of or like bumps. Its worst when the car is cold. Does anyone have any idea of what could be wrong and how much it would cost to fix it?

It doesn't sound like a ratcheting sound, does it?
Nope
Ok ill try that thanks!
Mine have done this...still do. I Think its a halfshaft pitching out a little and loose/ worn mounts amplify the issue. Sometimes halfshats may not be strongkt seated because the lockring is poorly fitted, worn or, aftermarket
I believe mine does the same thing you are talking about. I don't worry too much, I change my fluid twice a year and it shifts OK. When going from reverse to drive, or drive to reverse, I make sure to give the transmission time to change modes. Think of it as an old athlete, they perform pretty well but can be sluggish sometimes.
I have the same clunk on my lude going from P to R and R to N and back from N to R and R to P. D to N and vice versa didn't make a noise. Not sure whats going on either.
