I would also like to see your ideas on CAI set ups. I'm thinking of using AEM 2.5 filter and a modified 2.5 exhaust pipe. Should I run it as a short ram or take it as far as I can along the original run of the stock intake.

I don't mind PMs, but to prevent 10,000 of the same question, the CAI is custom made for the car at an exhuast shop, not fitted from another car.![]()

How much modification if any did you need to get that to fit past the battery, or is the battery just moved to the side?

the battery is just moved over a little bit. I could just turn the battery sideways but my wires aren't long enough![]()
hum I wish I had a CAI, stupid Lx.If I did if would be aluminum, 2.5" pipe, custom bended, and maybe I'll polish it too. :pimp:
I'm your local R&D nut. Fabracting, welding, tuning and breaking my stuff so you don't have to.

The filter on my original Civic shortram was rubbing on the proporting valve lines, so I decided to go with this. Simple and effective.
Bit offtopic, but here's my 86 with the 89 DX bumper. Wanted a solid black bumper and the cool 88-89 lenses. Gonna do some fiberglass and bondo work to it. Clean up some scratches and customize it a tad.

I know you sold that CAI, but how much did it cost for the exhaust system to build it for you? I want one made for it when I buy it, but I don't know what I am going to have to expect to get one made, is it just a matter of bending the pipe to fit right, or what?

It's not the type of car you drive... it's the size of the arm hanging out of the window.

I don't know if I have the best now, but I know I will have the best setup in awhile....
Here's mine with my custom ram air box made by me
When I get my new Weber DGEV carb adapter I will be running the same ram air intake that I have now and then I will be running a CAI into my front bumper with a air bypass valve on that cai as well.
Heres the only pics I could find:

Thanks fellas...I love the look of it. Someday I'll make it all nice and purdy under the hood with blue stuff like that.
Unfortunately, I don't really hear the intake. I did the first couple of days...and OMG...so nice. Even my roommate noticed the sound, and he's both deft and doesn't pay attention to cars! But after a couple days, I couldn't hear it over my exhaust. So maybe when I get new exhaust, I'll hear the CAI again!
I can hear my intake screaming when it's below 30 degrees outside, especially in the morning when the air is crisp.
