Angry Here is a bad story

I printed the instructions for installing lowering springs and struts.
I got my tools together and got the front end of my car ready.
I put my 17mm socket on the lower nut and bolt that hold the strut on and snapped it right off. Now i cant get the bolt out of there and i figure i could just heat it with my crappy hand held torch and go get another bolt. So i move over to the other side and the same mot@#r fu@k*ing thing happens.
Now i have a car i cant drive and now it sunday(i did this at about 430pm saturday).
I am gonna have to pay for a tow ($35), someone to remove my broken bolts ($50), and while i am at it I am gonna have them go the rest of the work ($220). I could of avoided about 100bucks worth of repairs I would stop being so damn stubborn.
    Well anyway.......Buffalo, Ny.............Holland Speedway.........RACEWARS!!!!!!!............Import Car Drags and show..............July 28th

Take a grinder and chop the other side of the bolt (in between the strut and the bushing) too so you can get the strut out. Then take a drill and drill all the rubber crap in the bushing and punch it out. When it gets seized in that badly, don't bother trying to reuse it. You can pick up two more bushings at Honda for about $15 a piece (I think) and two new bolts and put lots of anti-seizing stuff so next time around, you'll have no problems. It happened to me on the front and the rear passenger side. When things like this happen, my grinder is my best friend.

yup, Yasu is right. Same thing happened here. They are a bitch to get that.

I finally had to use a punch and hammer to get the bolt out. Once you got it out, get a new buching and bolt.

My front ones are seized in too. The back ones came out easy.
I managed to change my shocks without taking the fork off.
I am going to get some bushes and new bolts and take the saw to them but not till I have them in my hand as the local Honda dealer is a joke.

    Thumbs down Even worse now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took the car to a mechanic.
I watched them try to heat the bolts, punch them out, twist them out....just about everything. These damn things will not come out.
The car is already at the mechanic so I am gonna have them just put new control arms on the car.......they are about 105 bucks each........aint that a bitch well i already had new bushings even before I tried diong this job myself. Along with new struts and upper strut mounts as well. Looks like this whole deal is gonna run me about 700 bucks.
That doesnt even include having the rear springs put in!!!!!!!

I had to cut mine out. I torched the bent one 3 years ago when my wife hit a curb in the snow. The other one I cut with the cut off wheel and replaced both pieces with Wrecking yard units. When putting it back together put some antisieze on the bolt to keep this from happening again.
