Wow, I thought my PIAA's worked well. They looked like shit in the motorcycle test. Just in time as one of mine blew out and I have a mismatched pair. Thanks for the links.

On one of the tests from message 1 here, it looks like the "Halford Super Brilliance" bulbs were the champs. Seems to be a UK product. Anyone here gone for any of these bulbs? Most of the names/models were unfamiliar to me.

i tried searching for Halfords bulbs but i couldn't find anything. i thinkit is some kind generic store brand.
I would go with Philips vision plus or any other philips.

i have tried the vision plus, weather vision, and rally from phillips.....so far. the rally's are the best

How are the Phillips on the temp scale - or whatever they call it. A higher number is better...4111k deg etc. Higher is whiter.

as for PIAA bulbs, i can say they have been some of the longest lasting ones i've ever bought so far besides the sealed beams. but, their light output isnt as great as they would like you to think. although, not too bad. but i wouldnt recommend them if your looking for super bright bulbs. they are brighter than the Silver Stars i had though.

the temp color has nothing to do with how much light it will produce. there are halogen light bulbs that are painted blue than reproduce 4000 Kalvin color, but they are shit when it comes to light output.
If you want to see farther and clearer, you have to worry about luminescence. the higher the number the brighter the bulb. So bulb gets brighter the color changes from 3000K yellow to 4000K white.
So depending on what you want you can find your light bulb. If you want light output, the coated light bulbs are not the ones you need to look into. If you want blue color look, stick with blue coated ones.

There are always exceptions. for example. PIAA Super Plasma GTX and Raybrig WHITE SONIC-S and Luminics Titanium White . This light bulbs supposed to be as close to HID as you can get. I never had a chance to test PIAA or Luminics bulbs, but I had a chance to test Raybrig ones. They were the brightest bulbs i have ever installed in my car. I loved them, but there is always a downfall. Rain deflects light from blue tinted light bulbs. You couldn't see shit with them, but on the dry they were great.

So if you want power, go with clear high output bulbs, if you want color go with other blue tinted bulbs.

i have the PIAA GT-X bulbs. they are nice, but not as bright as you'd think. definately not 30% like they say. there really is not substitute for a good old HID system. i plan to get one when i fit the projectors and get them installed. shepherd79 has been saying for quite a while that the Raybrigs are bad ass and had recommended them to me before.

I have Raybrigs right now and so far I am pleased with them. But like someone said earlier, in crappy weather they kinda suck. I personally like the PIAA Spark 8000's. My friend has those in his Skyline and they work pretty well.
