    1/2 way shaved moldings?

i'm about to paint my car. as soon as i finish the body work. i'm wondering if i should take off all the moldings and just shave the holes that held the moldings in place. this way there would be an indentation where the moldings were, and it would be all smooth, no holes. has anyone done this or have a pic of a car with it?

That would cost a lot more, since i don't know how to weld. it would also be a lot more work, it if you don't know what your doing, your car can come out looking like ass. i know how to cover up holes with fiberglass just fine, so my car won't look like ass. but that would look good with fully shaved moldings.

Excuse my lack of expertise on body work but couldn't you fill the molding area w/ fiberglass?

yah and it might fall out... i guess you could fill it in then drill some holes and then screw the fibreglass to the doors? thats the cheap way but it probably wont look that great in a year!

I would like to see it too. Bondo works pretty good. Why would you be thinking of fiberglass? I shaved my trunk and I really bad want to shave the sides but I am afraid it will look bad with the indention. Apic would help and be greatly appreciated.

i was wanting to smooth out the side moldings too. was wondering how to go about doing it. hopefully my friend up north can help me out with that. he has worked at a car place for 2 yrs now. he knows all. hydros, airlift, gold plating, neon, etc. i would like to see the pic off the 1/2 shaved moldings too.
