    my own little no start

This happened pretty quick but my starter won't go. I did at first suspect the ignition switch but from looking at it more when I got home I say no.

I tested the S post with a light and I am getting power there with the key on the start position. While my wife held on to it I rapped it once litely on the solenoid itself and the starter engaged. I did a voltage drop and got minimal maybe .5 v drop trying to start it. I do here a light hum from the starter when the key is engaged.

I think the Sol is shot any other ideas.

Definitely sounds like the solenoid. If beating on it gets it working then it's time to replace it.

Agreed as well, sounds like time for a new starter.

Is the solenoid sold as a spare part itself? Or should we buy the whole starter?
